-
Can you direct bill my insurance company?Yes, we are set up to direct bill most insurance companies. Please inquire before your appointment to find out if we are able to direct bill yours! If not, we will issue you an official receipt to send into your insurance company for reimbursement.
-
Do I tip my massage therapist? It is not expected that you tip your massage therapist. Some clients insist on showing their appreciation with a gratuity which is always a kind gesture but never expected. You will receive the same level of care whether you tip or not. And please know that the greatest form of gratuity we can receive is letting us meet your friends, family and colleagues on our massage tables.
-
Where exactly are you located?Yes, we are tucked away in downtown Yorkton. We’re not hiding, we are just laying low! Find us on 2nd Avenue North, across from the movie theatre, just down the hall in the Source Embroidery building. You’ll love it here!
-
Where do I park? There is free 2-hour parking on 2nd Avenue, which should be enough time for your treatment. Also, there is a paid parking lot just south of our building.
-
What are your hours and how do I book an appointment? We are currently open Tuesday through Saturday and have various appointment times available, including evening appointments on Wednesday & Thursday. To book your time, please try our handy online booking system at www.littegreyowlmassage.ca or give us a text/phone call at 306-621-0044. Please note that we do not have a receptionist, so please leave us a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
-
Do I have to come early to fill out any paperwork? Not necessarily. We are a paperless office, therefore, shortly after booking your appointment we will email you your intake forms and ask that you have them completed prior to your appointment. In the unlikely event that you do not have email, we can make arrangements for you to come a little early to complete the intake forms at the clinic.
-
What is your cancellation/no-show policy? We completely understand that life happens! If you must cancel your appointment please give us at l least 24 hours notice. If you are not able to give us at least 24 hours notice, we will try our best to fill the appointment, if unsuccessful there will be a charge of 100% of the total appointment cost. Simply not showing up for your appointment will result in a charge of the full service price. In the event of a cancellation or no show, we will charge your credit card on file or we will email you an invoice that can easily be paid via e-transfer. All invoices must be paid before rescheduling a new appointment. Please understand that when you don’t show up for your appointment, you leave us unemployed for that scheduled appointment time - no one wants to go to work and not get paid! This policy is strictly enforced.
-
When should I arrive for my appointment? It is common for clients to arrive up to 15 minutes prior to their appointment time. Please come in and relax. Since there are likely treatments in session we ask that you turn your phone to silent and keep any conversation to a whisper.
-
Oh no, I’m running late! Now what?We will likely need to shorten the duration of your massage in consideration for clients whose appointments follow yours. Depending on how late you are, we will determine if there is enough time remaining to start a session. Regardless of length, you will be responsible for the cost of the full session.
-
What does my treatment time include? We will invite you into the treatment room at your scheduled appointment time. At this time, we will have a quick conversation about your intake forms and/or how you’re feeling. You will then be given a few minutes alone to undress and get under the covers. We will knock before re-entering the room.
-
How will I feel after my massage? Most people will feel extremely relaxed and sometimes they may feel a little sleepy. Depending on the pressure used during massage you may feel some mild soreness, similar to a great workout, that usually doesn’t last more than a day or two after your massage. Many people will feel lighter & free from aches and pains that have built up over weeks and months. Seriously, you’ve got to try it!
-
Will massage hurt?It can be uncomfortable when we are working on areas that are tight, inflamed or injured. However, it is important to us that you don’t lay in pain for your entire treatment! We can usually tell if any area is particularly sore, but please communicate with your massage therapist! Also, it is normal to feel soreness the day after your massage similar to that of a great workout – drink extra water, have a warm shower or bath, and stretch to ease the soreness. No pain – no gain is NOT a thing here!
-
Do I need to be naked during my treatment? No, you need to be comfortable! Most people will leave their underwear on, while others will take them off, it’s up to you. For massage techniques that require the application of oil or lotion, direct skin contact is ideal. While you get undressed, and onto the table, the massage therapist will leave the room for your privacy. The therapist will knock before re-entering the room. You will always be covered with a sheet and/or blanket, and we will uncover only the body part we are working on at the time – your modesty is maintained throughout your treatment. We do ask that you remove all jewelry prior to your treatment.
-
How often should I get a massage? This depends on your condition and of course your budget! We will never pressure you to book more appointments but will suggest what is best for you! Appointments can be as many as once a week to treat a specific condition, once a month for maintenance or a couple times per year to treat yourself! Although, we don’t recommend you staying away for too long!
-
Is a 30-minute massage actually beneficial?YES! Any amount of massage is beneficial. We recommend a 30-minute massage when time is tight! We tend to focus on one area of the body. Sometimes, we will be able to fit in a 30-minute massage to an already full schedule to relieve acute pain – it doesn’t hurt to ask!
-
I’m self conscious of my body… is massage still for me?Yes! Massage is for everyone. As massage therapists we work on bodies of all shapes, sizes, and ages and we are here to help you, not to judge your body. And just a heads up… most of the time, what you’re self conscious about – we don’t even notice!
-
Should I talk during my massage? This really is up to you! It’s possible that some people come here just to talk to us, and we’re ok with that! But we are trained to pick up on your cues. If you talk, we will talk back. If you’re quiet, we will focus 100% on your body and let you relax. It’s your time, you decide!
-
I forgot to shave! Should I feel self-conscious about this?Absolutely NOT! Usually, we don’t even notice until a client tells us they forgot to shave!
-
Do you offer gift certificates?Yes, we do. You can choose a dollar amount or a specific treatment. We also have a nice selection of unique gift ideas in our retail store.
-
I’m afraid I’m going to fall asleep and snore during my treatment… does this ever happen?YES! And we like to take it as a compliment because it means you are feeling safe with us and in a complete state of relaxation. So go ahead… saw those logs!
-
Why does my Massage Therapist tell me to drink extra water after my treatment?Because as we manipulate the muscles fluids are released into your vascular system. Its important to replenish to keep your body’s tissues healthy and hydrated. A couple extra glasses will do the trick!
-
Are your therapists licensed and certified?Yes, as Registered Massage Therapists in Canada, we have completed a 2-year, 2200 hour diploma. We must be active members in a professional association. Sometimes, we will have student massage therapists, who are currently enrolled at their 2nd year in an accredited massage school.
